It’s not only about the events that are happening during the day, the workshops and master classes, but what happens after hours. One of the things that I noticed right from the beginning was that the environment immediately created this incredible community, almost becoming more of a university setting. I’ll be bringing campers on stage during my master classes to help me demonstrate things, and I know a lot of the other instructors will be doing that as well. That’s something that I don’t get to do too often anymore because of my own career with Dream Theater, and how busy I am writing, recording, producing and touring. I could talk about technique, theory and gear for days! Sometimes I feel like my classes could go on and on but still wouldn’t be long enough.
